Loryn is an PhD student in the lab. She completed a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Physiology  at Simon Fraser University in B.C and joined our group upon completion of that degree. Loryn is investigating the mechanistic basis for atrial fibrillation in the setting of diabetes mellitus. Loryn is using high resolution optical mapping, patch-clamping and molecular biology to conduct her studies, which are performed using mouse models of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
