Postdoctoral Fellow Position – Cardiovascular physiology and heart disease.
A Postdoctoral Fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Rose in the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, University of Calgary. Our laboratory is investigating the mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac dysfunction in aging, heart failure and diabetes mellitus. Our experimental approaches span from the cellular and molecular levels to the organ and organism levels. We are part of a rich, supportive scientific environment with strong expertise in the study of cardiovascular function and disease. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join a dynamic, well equipped, multidisciplinary laboratory and to pursue novel areas of study. This individual will be expected to conduct independent research, contribute to the writing of scientific papers and attend major international conferences.
Opportunities are available immediately for a postdoctoral scientist with skills in cardiac electrophysiology and/or molecular biology, or with a strong desire to learn these techniques. Studies are being performed in animal models as well as human patients and tissues.
