Postdoctoral Fellow Position – Bioengineering (signal processing, coding) and Cardiac Electrophysiology.

A Postdoctoral Fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Rose in the Libin Cardiovascular Institute of Alberta, University of Calgary, where we are investigating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias in heart disease. Our laboratory is part of a rich scientific environment with strong expertise in studies of cardiovascular function and disease. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to join a dynamic laboratory and be involved in multidisciplinary cardiovascular research. This individual will be expected to conduct independent research, contribute to the writing of scientific papers and attend major international conferences.

Opportunities are available immediately for a postdoctoral scientist with a background in Bioengineering and interests in signal processing. The candidate should have strong experience in the use of Matlab for designing and implementing customized analysis approaches, which will be applied to our studies in the area of cardiovascular electrophysiology. These skills will be utilized to enhance our analysis of data acquired using techniques such as high resolution optical mapping and electrocardiography (ECGs). The ideal candidate will also be interested in learning to perform the experiments that generate these data.
